The Four Pillars

DIRECTIONS FOR FEELING AND ACTING

The Four Pillars

The coordinates of the project

Coordinates that guide
the way in which we feel,
think and act.

The Four Pillars define the cultural frame of reference of Emozioni and give concrete form to its vision.

Through them, personal and relational experience is read according to criteria that also guide the choices of the magazine.

It is this continuity between principles and content that ensures coherence over time and allows the project to evolve without losing its identity.

Why the Pillars

Recognising pillars means acknowledging that human experience requires criteria for orientation.

The Four Pillars emerge from the meeting point of research on emotional intelligence, relational practice, and observation of concrete experience; from this integration, a way of moving through what happens takes shape, holding together personal awareness and relational responsibility.

The architecture

Four levels, one single direction.

Each pillar rests on the previous one. It reads from below — from inner awareness — upward, to where relationships make the inner work visible.

The foundation

Self-awareness

Self-awareness is the starting point of all personal and relational work.

It consists in the ability to recognise emotions, thoughts, and reactions as they emerge, distinguishing what happens within us from the behaviours we choose to adopt.

This attention opens a space for choice, makes it possible to take responsibility in everyday decisions, and allows us to maintain a conscious distance from our own reactions.

In Emozioni, it represents the level on which the other pillars develop.

The mark

Understanding your emotions

When acknowledged, emotions become a form of orientation.

Their regulation arises from the ability to remain in relationship with one's own emotional states, recognising them in the context in which they emerge and understanding their meaning.

In this way, emotional experience becomes useful information for choices and processes of change, supporting more coherent action.

In Emozioni, understanding one's emotions means developing a more conscious relationship with what happens within oneself, transforming emotional experience into a space for listening, orientation, and personal growth.

From inner awareness to the quality of connection: the pillars are traversed, not chosen.

The bridge

Social Awareness

Social awareness extends personal awareness to the dimension of relationships and contexts.

It is the ability to understand others and the dynamics in which one is embedded, grasping the implications of one's own choices.

This perspective fosters listening, empathy, and responsibility in building connections.

In Emozioni, it constitutes the bridge between individual experience and collective life.

The encounter

Relationship Management

Relationship management is the point at which the preceding pillars become concrete experience, because it is in the encounter with the other that personal awareness and social awareness find full expression.

In this space, intentions, emotions, and responsibilities translate into behaviour, giving visible form to inner work. Being able to sustain dialogue, move through conflict, and build trust over time means maintaining coherence between what one understands and how one acts in the contexts of life and work.

In Emozioni, this pillar reminds us that the quality of our relationships makes visible the level of awareness we express.

From pillars to practice

Emozioni's principles in professional practice

The principles that guide Emozioni also find a professional expression in the work Marco Silvio Jäggi develops with people and organisations, through paths dedicated to awareness, relationships and processes of change.
